ISSUES OF HOMELESSNESS IN THE UNITED STATES
Abstract
Homelessness in the United States is a persistent problem that has many potential solutions. There is no one factor that causes people to become unhoused which makes this a much more complex issue than most people realize. Many methods have been attempted and are currently being employed to chip away at these issues and bring as many people into stable homes as possible to varying levels of success. I have taken a look into many of the causes of what brings someone to be without a home and the many programs and ideas that people are implementing across the world to solve this problem. This has been done through the use of academic journals that document the efforts of those running these projects alongside observations made through governmental projects that document the scale of what needs to be done. There are many people who refuse to sit idly by and let their fellow humans go without housing and their actions can be studied and followed to enhance efforts to house the unhoused. As people set out to understand the determinants that lead to homelessness and what solves those issues, we can get closer and closer to eliminating homelessness altogether.
