Losing My Religion: Examining the Effects of Religion and Mortality Salience
Project Abstract
Religion is often used as a coping mechanism. However, this coping mechanism hinders studies using terror management theory. This study examines the effect of religiosity on terror management theory by focusing on spirituality. Death anxiety and acceptance, religious centrality and acceptance, and state and trait self-esteem are measured. Results will be discussed.
