Abstract
This work will explore how the news medium of radio correlated to propaganda during World War II. It will review radio’s role in the 1940s war-time society and how it was used as part of the war effort in the Allied countries of the United States of America and Great Britain, as well as the Axis nation of Germany and the neutral nation of Ireland. This project will also demonstrate how the mass media theories of agenda-setting, framing, and gatekeeping theory correlate to radio’s purpose in World War II propaganda around the globe.
