Abstract/Description

From the Olympic podium to the national championship, women have proven their skill and abilities in the world of sports yet the media does not give them the coverage they deserve. Their achievements end up not getting recognized as they are left in the shadows by the male dominated media coverage. Throughout this paper I will be looking at how women’s sports got started along with some of the milestones, what women’s sports media looks like today, and ways in which we can improve women’s sports media coverage for the future. I will be using agenda-setting and framing theory to discuss this topic.
