Abstract/Description
In the late 2010s and early 2020s, the popularity of women’s sports has grown exponentially. Despite the severe lack of media coverage compared to their male counterparts, the NWSL, WNBA, and more women’s sports leagues continue to grow in terms of viewership, attendance, revenue, expansion teams, etc. My research paper aims to discuss this continual growth. The agenda setting media theory also comes into play when discussing media coverage and the difference between genders, which my paper will also discuss.
