Abstract/Description

Mental health in sports is becoming a critical topic of discussion, challenging the traditional way we view sports on physical strength and endurance as the sole pieces of athletic success. While athletes are celebrated for their physical achievements, the tense pressures they face—ranging from intense competition and public pressure from fans and the media—it can take a significant toll on their mental health. This essay explores the complexities of mental health in sports, examining how it affects athletes of all kinds, the large amount of stigma surrounding it, and what steps are being taken to address this growing problem in both professional and amateur athletic spaces.
