Abstract/Description

Having diversity in sports media is important for more repressive coverage, and it gives the ability to promote gender equality by encouraging teamwork, independence, and self-assurance in women and girls. Portraying women in athletics challenges gender conversations and social expectations. The media coverage of female athletes is important; it explores the reasons why women in sports remain sidelined and stereotyped in the media. Researching the contributions of women in sports media is important for the understanding of how they have changed sports coverage, challenged gender stereotypes, and improved the visibility of female athletes.
