Abstract/Description
If you have ever worked in agriculture or the medical field you might have heard the Old Wives Tale of “Oh, there will be a calf/baby tomorrow, it's a full moon tonight and a weather front is coming in.” But is there any truth to this Old Wives Tale? By creating a multivariate regression model I hope to discover if there is a relationship between weather changes and/or the moon phase on when a calf is born. While taking in variables like the mother’s (cow) age, the sex of the calf, daily temperature range, daily barometric pressure range, and the percent illumination of the moon I hope to discover if there is any relationship between any of these variables and when a calf is born.
