Revision and Reinstatement of United States Military Conscription
Abstract
Decreasing military enlistments, a declining interest in military service, and an increase in incentives spending present concerns for the future of the Unites States military, proposing a consideration for draft reform and reinstatement. Since the termination of conscription and an adoption of an all-volunteer force, the U.S. shows trends of financial burden to maintain the nation’s strength in its fighting force. A review of foreign nation policies highlights beneficial biproducts of mandatory military service, in both national defense and the future of American culture. This research presents a detailed plan for U.S. conscription revision and reinstatement and how the proposed plan benefits the nation moving forward. An adoption of this proposal provides the United States with a means to maintain lethality, strengthen the workforce, promote educational advancement, and reduce government spending.
