The Impact of Digital Learning Tools in Education
Abstract
Today, there is a growing role of digital learning tools in education and their potential to enhance student engagement, support differentiated instruction, and improve academic outcomes. Technology can provide convenience, assistive features, and other specific resources that effectively support teachers with lessons and monitor progress. However, the benefits of digital tools rely on careful integration, teacher training, and a balanced approach to screen time. Research shows that increased screen exposure can have physical, mental, and social impacts on children, as key concerns are highlighted, such as sleep disturbances, dietary changes, and developmental challenges. Still, social technology has the potential to further support connection and contribute to behavioral issues within the classroom. Several academic sources explore technology and its effect on children’s development for readers to better understand how technology can be successfully integrated to completely support children’s needs, both at home and in school. The provided research emphasizes the importance of blending digital tools with hands-on and social learning experiences to create an inclusive and healthy educational environment for all types of learners.
