The Evolution of Advertising and it's Effects On Society
Abstract
As technology and times change so does the world of advertising, a reflection of our communication and habits. New technology makes it easier to advertise to consumers and with the constant and ever-growing rise in the number of advertisements, the world is saturated with it, with ever-evolving technology making it common place. This paper is my dive into the modern era of advertising as well as the baseline of current forms of regulation for the rapidly growing and ever-changing advertising industry and what the average consumer can do to help see the changes, they wish to potentially see in the industry. Advertising is everywhere even if we don’t realize it, it is the new normal in the digital age and the drain it has on people is more than most consumers realize.
