Volume 8, Issue 2 (2021) Still Teaching during the Pandemic

Still teaching through the pandemic

Special Education teachers don't quit no matter what! We are strong and determined to keep providing for our students! In this issue, you will see just how determined special education teachers are to keep on teaching and problem-solving throughout the pandemic! Articles include information related to visual schedules to assist students with Autism. We all know just how important strategies are to help our students with Autism are and how keeping them on a schedule and providing choice is so beneficial. Another article provides teacher candidates' perspectives on self-care throughout the pandemic. We have to remember to keep taking care of number 1 or we won't be able to take care of our most valuable clients- our students. Co-teaching is an important part of our lives and provides students opportunities to respond and demonstrate their understanding! This is a strategy that needs to be used more often. Using our CEC High Leverage practices to help our future teachers learn to be the best teachers they can be is so important! These are just a few to mention. We hope you love all the articles provided in our Kentucky Teacher Educator Journal. If you have an article idea- PLEASE feel free to write it up and submit!! We would love to publish your ideas and work as well. Thank you for reading and reviewing for KTEJ! Jamie Mahoney
